About me
Hi! My name is Dmitry Kabanov.
This blog presents the things that I learn in relation to my professional activities, which lie at the intersection of Software Development and Mathematics/Scientific Computing.
I currently work as a Research Software Engineer at the University of Münster, Germany, in the group Numerical Analysis and Scientific Computing led by Prof. Dr. Mario Ohlberger. My main responsibility is to improve interoperability between different packages in scientific computing by providing open interfaces and enabling automatic data marshalling between commonly used scientific programming languages. This project is part of the Mathematical Research Data Initiative (MaRDI).
Before my current position, I briefly worked as a Machine Learning Engineer, as a postdoc at RWTH Aachen University, and as a Software Developer in several companies.
I earned my PhD in Applied Mathematics and Computational Science at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Aslan Kasimov (currently at Skoltech) in 2018.
