About me

Dmitry Kabanov

Hi! My name is Dmitry Kabanov.

This blog is a presentation of the things that I learn in relation to my professional activities, which are in the intersection of software development and math/scientific computing.

I currently work as a Research Software Engineer in the University of Münster, Germany, in the group Numerical Analysis and Scientific Computing lead by Prof. Dr. Mario Ohlberger. My responsibility is to improve interoperability between scientific computing languages by providing open interfaces and data marshalling between these languages. This project is a part of the Mathematical Research Data Initiative (MaRDI).

Before my current position, I worked for short time as a Machine Learning Engineer, as a postdoc in RWTH Aachen University, and as a software developer.

I earned my PhD in Applied Mathematics and Computational Science in King Abdullah University of Science and Technology under Prof. Dr. Aslan Kasimov (currently in Skoltech) in 2018.
